Chartered on January 20, 1989, and affectionately known in the Eastern Province as “G-Rock,” our chapter is dedicated to providing leadership and community service in the Gaithersburg-Rockville community. It is our vision to be the premier Chapter of the Eastern Province.

Kappa Youth & Community Foundation

KYCF is our nonprofit 501(c)3 arm that provides book and tuition scholarships to deserving students and supports to organizations in the Gaithersburg – Rockville community.

Kappa League

The Kappa Leadership & Development League program is designed to aid middle and high-school-aged young men to grow and develop leadership talents in every phase of human endeavor.

Military & Veterans Affairs

The GRock's Military & Veterans Affairs committee recognizes chapter members who are military members and veterans for their military and public service.

Kappa Alpha Psi was founded on the campus of Indiana University on January 5, 1911.
The Fraternity’s fundamental purpose is “achievement”.

Fraternity History

Kappa Alpha Psi, a college Fraternity, now comprised of functioning Undergraduate and Alumni Chapters on major campuses and in cities throughout the country, is the crystallization of a dream. It is the beautiful realization of a vision shared commonly by the late Revered Founders Elder Watson Diggs; John Milton Lee; Byron K. Armstrong; Guy Levis Grant; Ezra D. Alexander; Henry T. Asher; Marcus P. Blakemore; Paul W. Caine; Edward G. Irvin and George W. Edmonds.

International Headquarters

Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.'s International Headquarters is located at 2322-24 North Broad Street Philadelphia, PA 19132-4590.

The fraternity has over 160,000 members with 721 undergraduate and alumni chapters in every state of the United States, and international chapters in the United Kingdom, Germany, South Korea, Japan, the United States Virgin Islands, Nigeria, South Africa, Dominican Republic, and The Bahamas.

Eastern Province

The Fraternity is divided into 12 provinces - - Northern, Eastern, Southern, Western, North Eastern, South Eastern, South Western, North Central, East Central, South Central, Middle Eastern, and  Middle Western.

The Gaithersburg-Rockville (MD) Alumni Chapter is a member f the Eastern Province of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc.
